HST offers high-accuracy inertial profiling services using both 5-laser and 17-laser profilometers, adaptable to the scope and requirements of each project and able to provide continuous, chainage-referenced data at survey speeds, including:

International Roughness Index (IRI) measured in both wheel paths for ride quality and surface regularity.
Rutting (RUT) transverse profile measurements across the lane to identify wheel-path deformations.
Macrotexture (MPD) mean profile depth for skid resistance and surface texture evaluation
Longitudinal Profiles raw profile outputs for engineering analysis and compliance checks.
GPS accurate GPS co-ordinates which are chainage referenced.
ROW HD Imagery of up to 3 camera positions, including front, rear and service.

Deliverables

Data processed into 10 m intervals with 100m summary reports.
Excel outputs for detailed review and integration into client systems.
KMZ files for mapping in Google Earth (with optional line colouring by parameter values).
Chainage and GPS-referenced outputs aligned to project control.

RSP systems provide continuous, chainage-referenced data at survey speeds.

INTRODUCING OUR

Falling Weight Deflectometer

HST provides structural pavement evaluation using specialised FWD equipment, capable of simulating wheel loads by applying dynamic impulses to the pavement surface.

This allows us to measure the resulting pavement deflections and its ability to carry traffic loads. These systems allow us to capture the following parameters:

Sensor Configuration of 9 and 11 sensors are available. 
Deflection Bowl Measurements using geophones at fixed offsets (0–1800 mm) to capture the pavement’s load response. 

Maximum Surface Deflection (D0) for assessing overall pavement stiffness.
Deflection Basin Shape Parameters (BLI, MLI, LLI)​ used in back-calculation of individual layer moduli.
Load Levels applied loads typically ranging from 40 kN (light traffic roads) to 120–150 kN (heavy-duty routes and airports).

Deliverables

Raw deflection data and load-response files in Excel formatting.
.f25 files compliant with SANRAL requirements for network and project-level submissions.
Chainage referenced GPS files in a .kmz format
